Default 1988 Roof question

I am considering buying a '88 22 footer and was hoping someone could post up a pic of what the roof should look like. The one I am looking at has several diagonal seams and I was wondering if this is correct or someones "fix". Thanks.

Sounds like a repair to me. My seams are from side to side.

The HiLo roof is not a one piece roof. Depending on the length of the unit, you could have 4 or 5 sections to the roof. Yes, seams are normal. Just make sure they are caulked properly so they will not leak. The seams go from side to side, not front to rear.

Diagonal seams don't sound normal to me.

Default Roof

Isit an aluminum roof or a rubber roof? Walk on the roof and make sure it is not mushy. Look carefully on the ceiling inside and feel for soft spots. Check for staining or even interior wall dammage. Lots of looking and feeling.Take a picture and post. Go back and check the HI Lo as many times as necessary.

Sounds like you have a metal roof and the diagonal [lateral] strips are the joint seams that join the separate aluminum sheets. I recently had a rather large roof repair project on my metal roof. You might check out these posts and pics and compare with the laterals to which you refer.

Thanks for all your responses, but it "seams" that this deal has fallen through. I will keep looking though. Stayed tuned as I am sure to have more questions. Thanks again.

Please post your approximate location, town, region, state, maybe someone on the Forum will have a lead on something in your area.
