Working on installing a different awning , replacing the Horizon that was on our 87 Voyager with one I had on an 89 Fun Lite. Could anyone tell me if I need to watch out for electrical wires running across the BOTTOM-door side of the TOP of the Hi-Lo? Need to drill some holes along this area for mounting the awning.

Lots of great info that has been really helpful to us as we spruce up this hi lo we just bought. Fixed lights and got the stove, oven and furnace running. Great to have so much experience in one place! :)

Awning replacement

We haven't had to replace our awning. Be sure to put a dab of caulk over any screws and holes you make. The owner of our Hi Lo dealership told us to do this. Water that gets in the walls will cause delamination. Back off your awning screws and do this. Wish I had known this from day 1. If no one knows the answer to your question then call JR repairs and ask them.

Chris,

I think you're pretty safe drilling in that area. The top-half wiring runs through the ceiling and then down to the lights. On most Hi-Lo models there are no electrical components on, or along the BOTTOM-door side of the TOP of the Hi-Lo. Therefore this no need to drop wires down that far.
