A two part ???? is it better and or easier to put new butyl on surface around window hole (on Camper) or put butyl on rim around window...Then install..
The rubber trim around glass..its mildew looking ..I tried about 20 diff cleaners and some helped but nothing makes it all white again...Anybody been got the Answer How to clean short of Paint or Replace... and I will just live with it before i paint or replace.........................

cva34, scrape off all the old butyl residue, wipe the the surface CLEAN with mineral spirits. down to the surface. Then you MUST re-clean the surface with alcohol. Butyl tape won't adhere well unless the surface is THAT clean. Sorry, but the same should be done to the rim of the window. Put the tape on the surface around the hole. Then CENTER the window in the hole (this takes two people). If you don't do this centering, then then top edge will be the most venerable to leakage. Put a screw in the center top and bottom, then 3 and 6 o'clock. This should hold it as you alternate screws top, bottom, left side, right side. Just snug them art first. After they are all in, tighten them a grunt and a slight groan, but don't over tighten.
Wait a few days, and using a hard plastic scraper, remove the excess butyl tape, and run a neat bead of white Lexel caulk (available at Ace hardware about $8 a tube).
As for the frames, I'd wipe them down with "greenies" or scotch brite pads, to get the gloss off and alcohol, to get the dust off, paint them with rust-oleum appliance paint. This has always worked for me and comes out pro-like.
Keep us up-dated,
Tree

I got all the clean...and put butyl on rim of the window frame ...This was small Bath rear window and hole was tight enough that centering was automatic..It went well..
I read some place that once tape is put on window frame..Right before you put window in Hole spritz butyl tape and hole surface with water..That way when you mate the 2 surfaces together it will not grab and you can center window without any problem...Once it centered tighten down and once water dries its stuck....
Anyone ever done that..sounds easier to me...I did a little test with piece of aluminum I had a couple inch sq..stuck butyl tape to it than wet surface of butyl and a clean spot on camper shell..it slipped and slid around like a hockey puck...Then I let shell dry and test piece of alu with butyl dry..in sun...Pressed it to dry shell and it grabbed on...So far It seems to be a possibility
Thoughts please!!!!!!

I've never done that myself but that's not to say it won't work. Maybe give it a try on one window and see if it works, if you have the time.
I've done the windows on six units, not all Hi Los, but time was of the element. Only one Hi Lo had mis-shaped window holes, but we were able to correct that.

We resealed our 2006 Classic galley window this past fall. We found it easier to put the butyl tape on the window frame instead of the trailer wall with the two ends meeting at the bottom center. I replaced all screws with new plated screws with small socket heads, it made it easier to tighten everything up Then, just to be sure, I ran a thin, tight bead of clear sealant around the outside frame.

Resealing window
Just a reminder. After many miles traveling it is a good idea to check interior window screws for tightness.

Hi Camperlang - you COULD try J&R, but I think that window may be a standard trailer part. If you have an RV service place where you live, check with them about this.

Getting window
Just thinking out loud. Could you take the window out and have a glass shop make new glass. One of our windows got broken and this is what we did.

Ask me how our window got broken.
DW was spotting me as I backed into our home parking spot. She let me get to close to the fence. The force even broke a common part on our awning. We have since reconfigured our gate and walkway gate. Now it is easier to back in.
