Default Reworking windows

I have sliding windows that are leaking between the sashes and around the panes. I need to remove them from the trailer and install new plastic edging around the panes as some have shrunk leaving gaps in the corners. That shouldnt be an issue. But more importantly, I need to change the fuzzy strips that make the seal between the 2 sashes of window. Anyone know if the movable sash can be removed from the window frame to replace this? Or will I have to remove the glass pane from one of the sashes to get to it through the open hole? Is there a better material to use in place of the fuzzy stuff that would seal out water better but still let the window slide easily?
