Default 1976 Hi Low fresh water connection

Hi there, I’m new to this site. I recently was givin this 1976 beauty of a camper. Everything seems to be working just fine however where the hose connects to the front, the potable water connection, I can’t get it to stop spraying and leaking out. It’s lot leaking inside at all, just spraying out. Also the screw on cap sprays out also, is there a Replacement for this? I would like to stop the leak! I’ve attached a photo hopefully someone knows where I can get a replacement part or how to fix this

Hi Travis - Welcome to the forum. That's the "City Water" connection. It looks different than the one on my 2007 TowLite. However, I suspect most replacement City Water connection kits would work to repair the leak.

But, before you go ordering anything, remove the assembly from the side of your trailer. I think unscrewing those 8 screws should free everything up. This way you might be able to see exactly what is causing the leak - is it behind the panel, or at the hose bib connection itself? Maybe you just need a new washer.

And, you should not be using a "garden hose" to supply water to your trailer. (The green kind.) You want a "Drinking Water/Potable Water hose". They are white in color and are usually 1/2" in diameter. You should also use a pressure regulator at the supply point, so that the hose doesn't burst from excessive "City" water pressure. You can find both the hose and the pressure regulator online and ACE hardware may sell both too. You can find both these things at any RV store too, but they will be more expensive. I think the pressure regulator will keep the hose pressure (and the pressure in the lines inside your trailer) in the neighborhood of 45 PSI.

Finally, if you replace the City Water connection on the side of your trailer, try etrailer.com for something that will work. They have good prices and that should be a "generic" part. Etrailer.com will also have the drinking water hose and pressure regulator if you want to get them online.

Default Directly on the other side

This is inside directly behind the connector on the outside. The middle of section you said to take the screws out of, also comes out somehow, however directly behind it goes into this holding tank, I believe I seen a lot of new city water connections online and the backside is about the same size threads as a hose

That's a bit awkward looking. However, I'm sure it comes off somehow. If you study it you should be able to figure it out.

I know, I believe the older ones were a tad different I’m sure I can figure something out I’m pretty handy, but I maybe hoping to bring it to original
