How long do you all wait before winterizing. I guess I'm asking, from your experience, will the HiLo resist pipe freezing with a 30 degree night then a 45 degree day, then a 33 degree night and a 45 degree day, then a 32 degree night and 40 degree day, and so on?
I'm trying to get a few more trips in.

I am winterizing now but plan to spend a few more nights in the camper before storing for the winter. Just don't plan on showers or hot water when doing it.

When we have that temperature range here I put a small bathroom heater in the trailer and open all of the inside cupboard doors and access hatches that have water piping. Just having the heater set on low it keeps well above freezing. If it gets to a point where the daytime temperatures don't get out of the thirties and it drops below 32 at night I chicken out and winterize.

I have a 1997 28B. i Can't locate the bypass valves for the water heater. My trailer as a small hole on the side of the back locker to access a switch for a/c side of the heater. I can't see or feel any valves up in there. I thought all Hi-Los had the heater bypass valves. Am i wrong? could they be in a different place?

I had to install a bypass valve on my 98TL. I purchased one at Camping World. It was not a difficult installation.

There is a difference between water heater by-pass valves and drain valves. To the best of my knowledge, the by-pass valves are always located at the water heater. They are not "standard equipment" on all trailers. A by-pass valve kit can be purchased at any rv dealer or at Camping World.
