I have a 1973 2073 and just fixed the fresh water system and bypassed the fresh water tank. It had a hole in it and leaked out as fast as water could go in. Opened the lines at the sinks and was some nasty stuff that came out of the sinks. I guess water hasn't been run for some time.

My next step was to turn on the gas and light the hot water heater but noticed some water dripping from below the area where you light the heater. It was a steady few drops and I think it is from hot water tank itself.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated on how to remove and check the tank? I still have the installation manual and plan on disassemble this weekend, but looking for some insight and tips?

Might want to make sure the drIn plug on the hotwater heater is tight.
