Water Heater repairs
Some weeks ago I posted a question about my water heater having problems starting on gas. Thanks for the replies I received.
Today I got time to run check it out. Last night I went on the Atwood web site and found apparently (knock on wood) just what I needed.
Sometimes I don't know the right termology to look for what I need. This time I got lucky. I strated reading the Atwood site and ran across a trouble shooting/repair guide for "Intermittent Ignition" for Electronic Ignition Water Heater, Information Guide. Well now you see my termology problems. I thought the thing just wouldn't start every time! ha
That guide stated the that poor corroded wire connections cause most of the intermittent problems in water heaters. So I started by cleaning all the connections. It then gave step by step items that one could check, clean and set. I did most of what it said do. I did not do some of the electronic trouble shooting it said you could do.
I cleaned the connections and checked the alignment etc.
These electronic water heaters will try to ignite three times before locking out. When I tried it worked on the second attemp to ignite.
Now I'm a happy camper.
Once had problems with my furnance not coming on. Found some tips that said check for corroded connections. Cleaned them and it worked.
So that is a good tip for all to remember.........check the connections. It's worked twice for me.
God Bless
Papa
