Default Additional 12V Sockets

I want to install a couple of 12 Volt sockets on the right side of the cabinet the refrigerator is located in on my 2408. Specifically I want to install them close to the tank monitor, water heater control, thermostat, etc.

Does anybody know if there are any 12 Volt power wires already run to this area?

Thanks,

Raul

I don't believe you will find any wires that have been run. I ran wires for a 12 volt outlet on our 2310H but it doesn't have a tipout so it was a simple routing to the 12 volt panel. I tied into a blank fuse position and used a 10 amp fuse. Wiring was 12 gauge automotive wire.

Did you use cigarette-lighter type outlet or ones that are pronged? if the latter, where did you get them??

I used the cigarette lighter type because most things like cell phone chargers, etc. use them. My dealer friend gave me a combination 12 volt socket/tv cable plate. I just replaced the cable/telephone plate with it.

Thanks for the information. I plan on using a double receptacle like this : http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs...0#.UOOirHfl-So.

I installed some on my boat and an am very happy with them.
