Default hydrolic Switch/Relay

*Hydraulic Switch/Relay

I just purchased a Hi Lo trailer and it is currently up. I know nothing about them and this is my first travel trailer. It is in pretty bad shape but it all seems simple enough.

Because I am so new to it I have no understanding of what some of the parts I need are and where to get them. Currently next to the hydraulic pump there is a switch/relay that the previous owner said some kids broke trying to get to the pump.

What year and model is your HiLo? Best place for parts is J & R Repair in Butler, Ohio. Their phone number is 419-883-3001. Talk to Jim or Rob.

Those appear to be 12v breakers in the picture. They can be bought at an autoparts store or rv parts store. There are 3 types. Type 1 resets itself after it has cooled off. Type 2 has to have the power source removed from it before it resets. Type 3 has a small manual reset button on it. The type and amperage will be stamped on the breaker. The breakers will cost you about $5 - $8 each, depending on the type. The solenoid switch for the lift motor is a 12v automotive type switch. Again, any autoparts store. If you got a manual with the HiLo, it should have a picture and/or diagram of the pump and motor assembly. Do not travel with the top in the up position. Hope this helps.

When I bought it I had to bring it home in the up position, did I destroy anything by doing that?

I went very slow as I have to get a new lights cable to it too, so those where not working. The guy I bought it from said they pulled it around all the time up because they could not find the switch to lower it.

Guess that answers my question about having a manual. Towing it in the up position can snap your cables, break pulleys, and throw the whole top half out of alignment. Look at the left side of the doorway toward the floor as you go in. The raise/lower switch should be located there with a looped cable sticking out. If you don't have a manual, I suggest that you look at this forum's library and find one for your trailer.
