Default Raise/Lower Switch Replacement of Fuse with a CB

In an earlier post I wrote that the fuse for the top raising/lowering switch in a 24T is in a poor location. It is located below a drawer in a kitchen cabinet and the area can only be accessed if the tip-out is extended. The problem is that the tip-out can only be extended with the top up. If the fuse fails with the top down the top will have to be raised with the manual pump, and the tip out extended before the drawer can be removed to access the fuse. The first two photos show the cabinet with the drawer removed and the backside of the lift/lower and power switches. The fuse holder and 15A fuse (blue) can be seen.

I decided to replace the fuse with a circuit breaker that is easily accessible. I used a 15A panel-mounted, push to reset, circuit breaker from Blue Sea Systems that I purchased at a marine equipment shop. See the 3rd photo.

I drilled a 3/8" hole in the raise/lower panel and installed the circuit breaker. It installs from behind and uses a nut to secure it. I cut two short sections of 14ga wire and attached crimp-on spade connectors to them. Then I disconnected the fuse holder from the power switch and the lift/lower switch, and I connected the circuit breaker in its place. The last two photos show the circuit breaker installed.

Now, if the circuit breaker trips I can easily reset it right from the lift/lower panel.
