Default Refrigerator Smell...

My refrigerator unit gives off an ammonia like smell from the inside. I know that it isn't normal, so I unplugged it from power. Does anyone know anything about this? Thank you.

Default Refrigerator ammonia smell

Hate to be the bearer of bad news. Ammonia smell means your refrigerator is shot and needs replacement. Google information on this.

Looking up Dometic brand replacements, not sure if the process of taking the old one and putting in a new one is easy.

The cooling coil unit can be replaced in some models at a great savings? as compared to replacing the whole fridge. You may want to investigate that.

Default Refrigerator replacement

If you are handy and skilled any repair is possible. We chose to have our HiLo dealer do the replacement. Something wasn;t right and they had to do it all over again under warranty.

Replacing a refrigerator is not terribly difficult. I replaced a fridg in an older Sunline years ago. The problem i ran into was neither the old or new fridge would fit through the door frame. The door and frame needed to be removed first.
