RM2554 refrigerator not working on AC
My refrigerator has worked fine for 9 years on a new Dinosaur P-711 refrigerator board. Last month it would not switch to AC when connected to the power in the park. The problem repeated at home on good 120V AC power. Thinking it might be the P-711 board, I replaced that, but the problem is still there. I have no way to test the eyebrow board inside, so does anyone have a suggestion what to check? I confirmed that the 120V is on the board connections and the fuse is good.

Have you tested the electric heat element?

Thanks. I will test the heater when I can get to the trailer (it is in storage, and it has rained). The issue is not just that it doesn't heat on AC, but it doesn't even switch to AC when plugged in (fuse good and power to the board is good). I will check the heater next week.

If my memory is correct, the A/C auto function won't work if the heating element or high limit safety thermostat is bad.

Try connecting the refrigerator directly to the your 110 vac power source using an extension cord. Beach

refrigerator not working on AC
I have replaced everything except the eyebrow board (Dinosaur P-711 board & AC heater). It works fine on gas and apparently DC, but with the refrigerator plugged in to AC directly it still will not switch to AC. I can't find a replacement eyebrow board, so I guess I will just run on gas.

I'm sure you have tested the high heat cutoff in the AC circuit. But have you checked here for an eyebrow board? https://www.thedometicguy.com/dometi...ards-for-sale/
Have you checked any YouTube videos?

high heat cutoff in the AC circuit
I do not know where the high heat cutoff is located. This is a Dometic RM2554, and I can't find anything like that in the manual or wiring diagram.

Try this youtube.com video:
I found out the high heat switch is not part of the AC element.

Go to www.myrvworks.com from the fellow that did the video. Under resources, you can locate the Dometic Manuals. The manuals cover several models. The one manual talks about checking the leads from the upper board at the lower board connections.

After all of these checks and replacing many things, I finally found a replacement eyebrow board and replaced that. It worked!!! Also the issue I had often had with the refrigerator not switching back to gas when the AC power was lost was also fixed. I bought this from Amazon, and several of the reviews there said it fixed the "not working on AC" problem. It is a bit strange that a Google search did not find those reviews.
Thanks to everyone for the help - hopefully this post helps someone else.

New refrigerator issue
While connected to army Corp camp power this week, the original dometic 3 way fridge stopped cooling normally. Freezer works fine, filled with frozen water bottles. First 2 days of the week fridge was holding 38 to 40 consistently. Then it suddenly stopped going colder than 52 (freezer still fine).
Turned off and left door open for 6 hours, restarted and getting same result. Upper 80’s to low 90’s and humid in central Pennsylvania this week, ac works great giving steady slow flow from the roof drip spouts.
Any suggestions from fellow Hi Lo community? Tom

Do you have a cooling fan mounted behind the fridge? Those help especially during hot weather. We now have a Jayco trailer with a Norcold fridge operating on gas and it was acting somewhat the same last weekend at our little spot in the woods in Clarion County, PA.

I do have the factory standard fan connected to the wall mounted switch inside, it seems to operate as I would expect. Turns on and off as needed, I’m sure there is a thermostat switch inline as well. After 2-3 days the temps returned to 34-36 degrees.
Boy, that was an easy fix!
Do you have an additional fan mounted in you fridge service area?
We haven’t explored western PA yet, I keep getting as far as Raystown and don’t want to leave. So much to explore within 90 min drive, throw in “army corps” senior pricing at $15 per nite with electric. Going on my 4th week since June 3rd. Traveled Philipsburg today, my parents birthplace.
