Default Christopher Creek in Arizona

Wife and I just returned from Christopher Creek in northern Az. Great campground right on the stream. Elevation was 5640' with lots of pine trees and a perfect 73 F all 4 days. Check out the picture of a tree we spotted by our trailer , how did it ever grow like that?

455lark -

What a beautiful and peaceful looking place, thank you for the pictures! Was this a boondock camp site, or did it have water and electric?

The tree picture is awesome, my poor guess would be that at one time another tree fell against it, the fallen tree laid on it for so long that it grew around the fallen tree, reaching for the sunlight. I noticed that many of the surrounding trees were cedar, which take a long time to rot, so after a very long period, the fallen (Cedar?) tree finally rotted and fell to the ground, leaving this beautiful tree art in it's place. Oh yeah... and I think the tree fell against it on a weekend, because thats when it always seems to storm. Now if I could only figure out if the tree falling, made a sound, if no one was around to hear it...

Of course I really have no idea but it sure is a neat looking tree!

Neal

It was a boondock camp , thats about the only type camping we do , far less crowds and usually more spaced out between any other campers. This campground on the Sunday thru Wed. we were there had only one other trailer in it.
Good guess on why the tree grew that way, and your right , on a weekend is a safe bet. Thanks for the look Neal
