Default Smoky Mountains National Park in Tenn.

Just returned from a 3,400 mile sight seeing trip ending in the Smoky Mountains, then home to Pa.. We started in PA. at Quakertown went west, stayed several nights in Tough Creek state park, then on to a family reunion. After that we traveled into IN., Ky. AR. and then into Tenn.. We visited a couple friends near Memphis, then on to the Smoky Mountains. We had planed on staying in the Elkmount National camp ground, we arrived on Tuesday but all 225 sites were reserved for the labor day week end, we could have stayed a couple of nights but I was getting tired of moving and wanted to stay for awhile, so we went on to the Cosby National campground, it was rather far away from everything but had no trouble getting a nice site, stayed there 10 days. From there we traveled all over the National Park, also Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, all kinds of activities in those places. They are designed for the tourist. Had a great trip, last 5 days at Cosby it rained and then it poured was hard sleeping, large drops off the trees was very noisy. But in Gatlinburg it wasn't raining so we got to do the things that we wanted to do, trolley rides were great fun. For 2 bucks you could ride all day and change trolleys all had different routes.

Sounds like a great trip. Elmont is my "home" campground only an hour away. Heading there Sept. 24th! Just got back from Big South Fork Yesterday.
