Default Shower Curtain Mounting

Has anyone replaced the shower curtain mounting/hanging system in their HiLo? There has to be something better than the little trolley track system.

Rich,

We've also been looking for a better system. That was one one the "better," ideas I went fishing for at our annual local RV show last month. All the new trailers and 5th wheels we saw had shower stalls with doors.

Interestingly, our 1969 Bon Voyage had exactly the same trolley track system that our 2004 Towlite has (and I presume your rig too). Its good to find out that I'm not the only one that wants a better system!

I have scoured RV catalogs and websites and have seen a thing. The present system works okay but it is too tedious and delicate. If it was built a bit more heavy duty it would be fine.

Let's keep searching!

Rich,
The shower set up in my 1969 HiLo had a split curtain similiar to our 2004. The difference was that in the 1969, the toilet was mounted on the shower pan...so the curtain always gapped open where it had to fold over the toilet. My solution then was to install snaps to hold the curtain halves together. It eliminated some of the tedious inconvenience of having to continuously work the little trolleys around the track to keep the curtain gap closed.

Thanks! Until your post I'd forgotten about that old fix. In our 2004 we have a similiar gap issue, not because of toilet interference, but because (dang it) I'm just not the skinny kid I was at age 24. Think I'll do the same thing in our 2004 to keep the gaps closed (and maybe drop a few pounds too)! This time I'll use Velcro, which wasn't yet commercially available the first time I did this way back when.

I ran into this a while back when I was looking for something more durable. I wonder if it would work. It looks like you can shape it any way you like.

I Beam Ceiling Mount Shower Curtain Kit - Bendable 4372 on eBay!

Rubon,

Thanks for the link to Ebay. Unfortunately this looks like exactly the same set-up that we currently have. This type of track works, just seems like the little trolley are so small that you have to jiggle and finesse them around the corner bends of the track. More difficult when there are two corners to go around.
