One more question for you re your 2510H. My awning on my new for me 2511H is cracked and deteriorating on the outer edge. Did you replace your awning and if so what was your solution and source? I’m wondering if only the outer edge is bad if a good canvas shop could sew/add an edge cover, or if the cost is about the same just to replace the full awning? Thanks, Jim

Default Awning repair

You Tube has a tutorial on how to remove awning fabric. You will need to remove the awning fabric. Measure and price out new fabric vs having a canvas shop do a repair.

I suspect if I had to remove the awning fabric, I'd just go ahead and replace it.

You can coat the upper surface of the awning fabric, where it is exposed to the sun and other elements when it is rolled up, with white elastomeric paint. That will protect it from deterioration and will not interfere with the way it works. I've done that on mine, and also used the elastomeric paint on a fabric cover that is over an awning on my house when it is rolled up.

Maybe so, Tree. I learned this trick about 25 years ago when the canvas awnings on Janet's house were faded and deteriorating. Rather than replacing them, she had them painted with elastomeric that had been tinted to match the colors required by her HOA. They looked beautiful, and were essentially, brand new.

This is protection you can take on almost any cloth that is exposed to the elements.
