Angry Atwood furnace

Hilo towlite 17ft which is a 2009 That has a Atwood furnace. What are your steps to turn on thermostat?
When I pop off the cover to the thermostat in the camper I tried moving the thermostat down low but it moves right back to high.
I was thinking because it is summer and warm in the camper so he thermostat wont move?
Just bought the camper and trying to figure it all out.

Saul, welcome to our happy band! I don't have your problem, but I did find the thermostat was very hard to turn on, so I opened it up and did a little surgery on the ON/OFF lever switch to make it easier to move.

If you can't get it to hold the desired temperature, a solution is to replace it with one from a home improvement store. Look for the inexpensive, non-programable kind, with two wires. Here's a thread on this topic from Treeclimber, who went a slightly different route: https://www.hilotrailerforum.com/f32...lacement-6711/

Default Thermostat

The thermostat is very hard to turn on with the lever at the bottom. We replaced ours with a push button kind at Walmart. So modern just push the arrow up or down. A breeze to push the start up button. Happy wife!!
