Default Stove grate

I had a 1990 25ft. Classic HiLo. Loved the burners and oven. Easy to lift the stove top for cleaning. The grate was sturdy to hold a big heavy pot of water with no distortation of the grate. We now have a 1996 26ft. Classic. The grate is held in by clips. Harder to take apart for cleaning. The grates distortes when a heavy pot of water is put on it. DH is a retired sheet metal guy so this bothers him. Saw on another forum where a replacement grate was put in. Just exploring this possibility of changing grates. Might cost $.. Any thoughts on this.
