Default March Tionesta lake trip

I think that the outflow at Tionesta Lake is open for free camping and I may give it a late winter trip March 11,12,13.
Anyone been there? Is it worth the trip? Anyone else want to go?
I'm going through HiLo withdraw!!!!!!!!!!!!

You might want to check with the Tionesta Dam office to see if they have been plowing the campground roads.

My camper won't be out of hibernation until late April.

Ha! I guess I live too close to the area. I should keep up on things a bit better. I remember camping their with the Boy Scouts about 25 years ago.I forgot about the outflow area across the creek.

Yes I did. I was thinking it should be Tacoma owners with HiLo's to make it even more interesting.

I would love to, and maybe in the future. My time is tight as well I just saw that I have a free weekend that weekend and thought that I'd give it a whirl. I haven't had it out in winter conditions yet and I am anxious....Ok...really anxious.

vannooch,

Referring to your first post in this thread, I sympathize completely! I'm enjoying the heck out skiing this winter, but I'm also chomping at the bit to hitch up the Hi-Lo and head out. Our first planned trip is for late April to the Idaho side of the Snake River at Hell's Canyon. I'll shovel the darn snow out of the campsite myself if a I have to!

Vannooch,
Gee, we would love to go but we will be in Florida exploring the Everglades and hitting some spring training games in Ft. Myers and Bradenton. And, oh yes, spending some money on gas. We are driving there but leaving the Hi-lo home this trip.

Default Trip to Niagara Falls

You might want to talk with the H-Love NY group at the rally..They would be able to suggest places to sightsee, camp ect. Hopefully the gas prices won,t curtail your plans. Send me a PM and I will share my e-mail and phone # with you. Hopefully the gas prices won,t make any of us curtail our travel plans. I live 15 minutes away fron the waterfalls-Niagara falls.

Went out and reinstalled the battery and made sure that everything works....and it does.....I'm getting excited.
A couple of friends just bought a Voltage 3200, just drug it to Daytona Bike week. Of course they were rubbing it in.....
One more week.....

Did you postpone your trip or are you out there braving the elements?

Postponed.........Oh woe is me......
It really isn't the weather, but the time. One of the reasons I wanted to take it out is to see how she performs in the wintry conditions.
But I seem to have gotten myself into a real mess doing some remodeling at church.

Follow up: I was enjoying skiing so much this winter that I broke my left leg last week; assigned to crutches for the next 12 weeks. But you guys posting about a March camping trip at Tionesta Lake keeps me chomping at the bit to get going with the Hi-Lo. So I'm still planning the trip to the Snake River in April even if a have to shovel the darn snow while on the darn crutches!

vannooch... if you folks weren't 2500 miles too far east to travel in winter, I'd join you in March at your lake! Have fun!

Jim

Holy smokes Jim, that really stinks! Depending on the trip date you could be healed by the time to leave, ya need 6 weeks I'd imagine. I've taken a cast off of my leg at four weeks and was ok, tender but ok, maybe drink alot of milk!
I'd come and help ya shovel if it wasn't for that 2500 mile issue, but I'll be coming your way one of these days.
