Hello from Indiana
Glad to find this page, we have a 1971 Hi-Lo that was a barn find by the previous owners. The bathroom was removed, as was the gray and black water tanks. We use a 5 gallon jug under the sink for gray water, which is plumbed out the floor to empty at a dump station. No air conditioner, but we use a floor model portable, which has exhaust and water line plumbed out through the floor-no problem with that. Stove works great, and previous owner replaced fridge with an electric dorm fridge-works great for us. Havent tried the furnace, a little apprehensive about that. No leaks in roof, and previous owner did a tongue and groove ceiling, which is fine. We did replace a leaky faucet, with a fold down model we found on amazon-works great! Dont have hot water, just boil in a tea kettle when we need it. Ok, heres our problem. Just got home from a 4 day holiday weekend, went to raise it up to empty it out, and the back left cable snapped. No dealers here will touch it, and its stuck in the up position. Anyone have any education/videos on how we fix our 1971 cable system? This is a little complex for us, but we love our 1971 and want to fix it and keep it, even if we have to do it ourselves. Thanx and glad to be here!
