Default New Owner 1997 Towlite

Hello!
New owner here, from Elizabeth, Colorado. I've wanted a Hi-Lo since I first noticed them when I was in high school back in the 90's. Well, we recently decided we needed a trailer/camper for the trade shows we attend, so when I saw an old 1997 Towlite posted on FB marketplace for a ridiculous price (which actually had a title) I went for it. Frame, axle, and floor are fantastic, and it towed straight and easy for the 45 mile trip home. Interior fixtures all work and are in good condition. However, surprising no one, the upper walls need to be pulled off and rebuilt, and the aluminum roof will need help, too. So, here I am. I've been lurking for a while, absorbing what I need to know to get this thing done. The good news is, I have a shop full of tools, and have fabricated things out of wood and insulation foam sheets for years, just not in this particular application. I've worked with fiberglass, 3D model and can print bits and bobs, can do electrical wiring, can sew new curtains and cushion covers, weld, and all the assorted things people who grow up poor learn how to do because you can't hire someone else to do it! Anyways, hi everybody!

Sipesh - welcome to the HiLo family! I like your attitude and am pleased you're going into this project with your eyes open. Too many people buy a trailer thinking it will take care of itself and then don't know what to do when it surprises them. You've got all the skills needed to bring your new trailer back to life and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Sometimes, we even have useful advice!

- Jack

Thanks! I'm sure I'll find something when I tear into it further that'll bring up questions.

Default Many rebuilds on the forum.

Many of us have gone before you with rebuilds. Some rebuilds were quite extensive. Play your favorite music while working!! Keep us posted. We love pictures. The other day DH and neighbor covered and winterized the HiLo for winter storage. Also took the battery out. Sad times.

Good luck in rebuilding your HiLo, I live in Colorado Springs and I bought a 1994 that I redid. We go to Elizabeth for the GospelGrass every year and stay in our HiLo.
