Default New to camping and hilo

Me and the Mrs got a 1997 Classic 24D in the early fall last year. Had a blowout on the way home. Ha... trial by fire I guess. We spent the better part of two months figuring out what was wrong with it ( not much), tinkering and learning. We’ve had it out twice (once last fall and then once a couple weeks ago) with our two young sons to nearby TN state parks. Wow what fun.. we’re hooked. We’ve booked three more for the spring.
So is it pretty normal to get the curious folks who want to peak inside? I’d never thought it was going to be that much of a novelty but it seems to get some attention. Looking to add a surge protector before the next outing.. looks like a nice spot under the sofa but space is tight at the converter and breaker box. Happy to have found this forum.

Welcome,1997 24D, that interest in Hi Los will follow you wherever you go! We get lots of double takes and how does it work? Most think of the gas savings. We average 14 - 17 mpg flat land and 12 mph in the Smoky Mts. Have fun camping, but stay on top of your maintenance. Lube cables often.
Again, welcome,
Treeclimber

Welcome folks. Yep folks are curious about Hi-Los and are in awe of raising and lowering them. We just smile a lot as we cruise down the road. Enjoy!
