Default New to Hi-Lo but not yet entered in.

My father-in-law started on a 16' unit several years ago and said he was fixing it up for my wife and I. We had an old class A for awhile but sold it. Mr father-in-law is permanently grounded(RIP) and now I am researching the project and whether I care to get it back on the road myself. It's rough but not beyond my abilities.

It has a rear door and mostly looks like a '66 but says it is manufactured in '71. It is a 12' box space and a 4' tongue = 16' like a 1966 Voyager 1600? I could not find info on a 1971 16 footer with or without a rear entry.

Some water damage on the ceiling and wall passenger side rear. Other cosmetic separation here and there. Brother-in-law saw it raise and lower recently so the slider works at least.

I will include some photos after reducing jpg size.

Gen, now that would be fun to work on! Looks like changing the battery could be a chore. Is the red handle the raise/lower control. Sounds like you haven't raised or lowered it yourself, any reason?
And welcome to the forum, your in the right place. Several oldies here and most of us have done our homework on Hi Los

Researched showed it to be a Jo Bud Inc from Denver Colorado. I found many Patents for the lifting process and also why it would not be good to call your company Jo Bud today. ''Not that there is anything wrong with that" but not my preference.

I would like to hang out with you guys because of all of the info here and I doubt there to be a Jo Bud forum I care to get on.

The battery has access from above with a hinged bench. I had about an hour to check it out and photo document what I could. I saw some wiring issues that needed to be checked and you only have one chance to do things right the first time without screwing things up. I worry about a back corner that has laminate separation that might catch and peel.
My wife hasn't given me the okay to move forward and officially she is in charge of this.
