Default 2001 22' Front Window and Awning

We are about to purchase a clean 2001 22'. Two issues that I need to get a feel for cost to repair/replace. The front window has been shattered. The current owners say it does not leak however it is badly shattered over the entire left side (as you are looking from inside). I see that J&R is no longer selling HiLo parts. Any leads on where to get this glass? Also the awning is trashed and will need replacement fabric...where for this? Thanks in advance!

Try and asking JR Repair. I hadn't heard that they are no longer selling parts. Also try Midget.

You can find awnings at Camping World or and RV dealer, just about. They sell the whole awning and just the fabric as well.

The easiest is to remove the front window (it takes two people one the inside to remove the screws one on the outside so the window doesn't drop out)
Take the window down to a glass shop to have them replace the glass ( would be a more cost effective than replacing the whole window)
Then reinstall window
You could always take picture , find a glass shop and get price before taking window out

Default Window/Awning

OK...that is all good info !! I am a little concerned about the availability of specific Hi-Lo parts in order to keep a 17 year old rig in good repair. I did discover that JR had morphed into J&R Trailer Repair. I did leave them a message. Tires, wheels, brakes etc. don't worry me at all as those are not specific parts. Anything in particular specific to Hi-Lo that I should look for. We are experienced RV owners ...everything from a class A to a slide in popup, just nothing like the complexity of the lift system of the Hi-Lo. THANK YOU for your support !!! I will post pictures if we get this trailer bought.

These are the major things to check for.

This was taken from NDgent's post here on the forum. It is a great go-by list. You can do a search of thinking about buying and find his post to read it first hand.

Basically, start with the visual items –
1. Exterior
• Look for water stains and discoloration on inside walls and around ceiling anywhere vents, skylights, windows, etc. exist.
• Push and prod with your hand on the inside walls for soft spots (which could indicate a water leak and a damaged or rotten interior wall).
• Check for bubbles in the wallpaper (a sign of delimitation or water intrusion)
2. Interior cleanliness of the unit-
• Look for water stains and discoloration on inside walls and around ceiling anywhere vents, skylights, windows, etc. exist.
• Push and prod with your hand on the inside walls for soft spots (which could indicate a water leak and a damaged or rotten interior wall).
• Check for bubbles in the wallpaper (a sign of delimitation or water intrusion)
3. Test appliance functions –
• lights
• fans
• refrigerator
• air conditioner
• heater
• water pump
• range hood
• stovetop
• oven (if equipped)
• microwave (if equipped)
• stereo (if equipped)
4. Lift System-
• Does the unit raise and lower properly
• Check the lift system for hydraulic leaks (puddle under the trailer)
• Check the lift cables to see if they are in good shape and not frayed
• Check the seal between the upper and lower body halves for tears or damage
5. fill the tanks to the top and check for leaks
6. Battery
7. Solar Panel (if equipped)
