First you need to know if your trailer has the C opening on the upper molding? If it does then you can use the awning that slides into it. If it doesn't then a awning in a box is the way to go. If it has the C opening then you can use either one, your choice. A good used one might be hard to find, new can be bought about anywhere that sells RV parts. New or used depends on what you want to spend.

Sorry just checked my 95 which has a awning in a box and it too slides into the C channel. So both need the C channel.

Trailer Radio 005.jpgHere is a couple of pics of my 2209, the channel isn't very big and it runs along the top edge of the trailer.

Don't forget about the brackets that the arms attach to, I think these are Hi-Lo specific

Two questions. What does the awning mounts screw into where it attaches to the top of the trailer? I just noticed one of the bolt heads broke off on the aft mount and the bracket now has a side load on it.
Second question....I need to replace the fabric on my awning. I was thinking about upgrading to an awning with the weathershield to help protect the fabric. I was wondering if anyone has done that and if it is worth it. I know it's less expensive to replace just the fabric. Thanks!

I had to change the lag screws in the rear bracket on mine and from what I could determined the upper bracket screws, screw into the aluminum tubing at the top of the trailer on my 2209T, the awning fabric slides into the C channel, your 2404T should be the same. I used longer lag screws and drilled thru the opposite side of the tubing and screwed thru, one front hole was stripped from apparently being over tightened at factory and came loose.
