Default Hi-lo Awning

I am looking to buy an awning for our hi-lo, but I can't find any that will fit? The support arms are usually too long. We would really like to stay away from the supports that go to the ground. Does anyone have any suggestions about which brand or awning is good?

We are not opposed to going with another hi-lo awning, but we are having a hard time finding one. Is JR parts still carrying hi-lo?

Thanks for the help!

Most later models all used A&E awnings by Dometic. You should be able to order them through RV dealers. The arms are shorter and they require a bracket that mounts on the bottom edge of the top half. I'm quite sure my dealer friend ordered awnings from an RV supply distributor not HiLo.

Brackets as listed on on HiLo Trailer Parts:Web Store - Midget RV & HiLo Service & Parts

If you get one, get it through a dealer because to get one shipped to you it can be very costly. They have to be shipped via motor freight due to their length. The dealers get them delivered by their distributors for nothing. You will want to determine what length your awning will be, based on the length of your HiLo.

Default A & E Trans Awn 2000

I am hoping someone out there has parts to an old awning that got messed up. We need the support bars and the reeling mechanism. Any luck? Let me know. Thanks.

I talked to Jay last week about my trailer. He said in all his years he never saw a hardside non telescoping Hi-Lo

It was one of HiLo's experiments. Like the fifth wheel, the 34' Classic, and the one with the hybrid style fold out bed ends.

Default HiLo unusual trailers.

HiLo probably just made one of each model you describe in your post. That is why Jay never saw one.

HiLo made 5 models of the non-telescoping Breeze. A 19' model, 3 22' models, and a 25' model. HiLo also made a telescoping Breeze model in 21', 22', and 25' models. The non-telescoping trailers were 19BZL, 22BZB, 22BZL, 22BZU, and 25BZT. The telescoping trailers were 2100, 2200, and 2500.

My dealer friend sold a number of them. I believe he said that they were the remaining inventory that Hilo had when they stopped marketing them.

I have no idea how this happened. The rear dug into the side and they both sit away from the trailer in the retracted position of the awning. The forward bolt of the rear mount is also sheared. Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks!

Default Awning

My 2807 had a pad under the bracket because the bracket was not deep enough to clear the gutter. They were adhered to the trailer wall. One fell out and I made new ones out of a rubber boot sole. Glued it to the trailer side in the proper place, tightened bracket and have been good every since.

Default awning repairs

RCEYES,I had dear husband look at your pictures. Brad is correct in saying your padding came out and could be replaced. The awning probably got baked in the sun. You will need to remove the awning and send it into a canvas repair shop to have the damaged section repaired. It is very possible for them to sew in a white patch and this will save you $ over the cost of a new awning. We haven't had to do this repair. You tube may have a video on how to do this.

Your awning was made by Dometic and they should still be made to fit your HiLo. Look on the awning for a tag that has model/serial numbers that tells them what size your awning is. The hardware is generic throughout the RV world. Any RV dealer should be able to work on it and get get the replacement awning material. The HiLo arms are shorter and the only unique item is the bottom mounting bracket that can be had from HiLo Parts - Midget RV & HiLo Service & Parts orHome - JR REPAIR if still available.

The lag bolts are probably all bent, you can get new ones at Lowes, mine got bent from a tractor trailer trying to occupy the same lane. I also cut new pads out of 1/8 stainless steel to cover where the bottoms broke the fiber glass, I sealed the fiber glass and then used silicon to fasten the new s/s pad to the trailer.

I have already looked into the fabric replacement. My concern is with the bracket digging into the side. Can someone get me a picture of the rubber bumpers? Thanks.

I wish you had posted this sooner, I paid our trailer a visit this afternoon. The bumpers are just hard rubber strips that are about 1/4"x1/2"x the width of the mounting piece. That's a guess, in other words, it fills the gap that you show in your pictures. A piece of soft wood would work but it wouldn't be very durable. Was that too many woods?

If nobody has posted any pictures by this weekend I will take some and post them. This time of the year It is usually too dark to take photos when I get home from work.
