Allison MT643
130,000 Miles (for now)
History not fully known, maybe started as a school bus? It had a first aid and bodily fluids kit on-board, maybe thats standard.
It was then used by the fire department as an evac/transport bus. They eventually sold it to AAABUS where a couple looking to convert it bought the bus.
Life got in the way of their ambitions so they had ended up selling it to me!

Exterior: Nothing done myself, yet. Looks like the fire department deleted three rear windows on each side of the bus. Also it has some LED lights swapped in on the rear(score!)
Roof raise on the horizon but the first major project will be fixing this compartment door and making it capable of holding a generator securely. The main challenge is this build will need to be completed without shore power. Hence, the generator is top priority!
Interior: The first thing I did was simply dust the bus. I think the bus spent the most time sitting at AAABUS during its 31 year life. I have probably removed 80% of the dust, it will get better! But hey, I'll take dust over rust!
Customizations: The main structural plan is a roof raise, while also shortening the bus 3-6ft. The rear panel will come in 6ft while leaving 3ft of the rear floor attached to make into a deck/storage application. So in total, the bus would technically only be 3ft shorter.
