This is the lower, intake air and burner section. Note the lining of the area. It's the exterior of an old refrigerator (steel) caulked with fire caulking...should give me about 20 minutes to get out if there's a fire in the burner unit. The entire box was lined with the recycled steel before the frig was installed.
