    Brakes and Hitches

Lucky, The post Jack has above is spot on with my thoughts also. The equalizer did make some noises, high squeeky noises mostly when turning tight corners and it is heavy to put on, but I had a confidence that it was doing what it was supposed to be during traveling conditions.

    Tundra Tow Vehicle

Nice to hear your satisfied with the Backup camera. If you don't mind me asking which one did you go with, as I will eventually be getting one for my Tundra. I always back into parking spaces since my truck is so much bigger than a standard car and I have a hard time determining how much space I...

    Brakes and Hitches

Lucky, Read through this thread as it gives a lot of information relating to tow weights and may help you in understanding more on which direction you should take with your situation. I also had an Equalizer WDH and would agree with Jack that I really didn't have any worries knowing I had that...

    Brakes and Hitches

You might want to check Camping World also for prices on the Brake controller. If I remember right, I think with the membership discount, I got my Prodigy Brake controller there for around $100?

    Brakes and Hitches

I agree with both Jack and Rich on the Prodigy Brake Controller and as well the Equalizer WDH. I used both and highly recommend them for safe travels.

    Tundra Tow Vehicle

I haven't posted in quite awhile but I can attest to the Tundra being a very capable tow vehicle. I have a 2008 Tundra Crewmax with the 5.7L V8 with factory tow package and the upgraded cooling system with the Manual 6 gear shift option and could not be happier with this tow vehicle. I used to...

    Cables

Lubes Here is what I used on my trailer. The Blaster Dry lube for cables, bought at Home Depot or Lowes, and the white lithium grease for the hydraulic guide bar was bought at Sears.

Here is a good article to get you started on learning the basics of tow ratings and how much is allowable. Hope this helps in getting you started. Choosing the Right Tow Vehicle

    Laptop

solar If you are just running off of battery supplied power for your trailer, you might be able to get by with using a solar panel to keep your battery topped off during the day hours and then it will be replenished for your night time use such as lights, water pump, laptop for a movie, etc...

Can I tow this with my 2007 Avalanche?

Oddly enough it just so happens that I am the private seller in question. So here is my information to help in understanding the weights for the buyer. First I have looked at the 1999 brochure and it lists the UVW at 5750 but the same exact model listed in the 2000 year brochure lists the UVW...

    sliding window fix

Looks pretty clear for plexiglass. Thanks for the pics. I will most likely do the same mod on my unit.

    likely cause for AC problem

Good to hear it was something simple. If you don't have a dedicated 30 amp supply from your land source then chances are the breakers will continue to trip as the AC unit pulls a lot of amperage.

    likely cause for AC problem

Yeah it sounds like you are losing power from the separate circuit breaker that supplies power to your AC GFCI. That box under your bed is the main power supply breaker panel for your trailer. If I remember correctly that feeds a line to the fuse panel, and I believe that you need to verify the...
