As a follow up to my post about the Fastec lock recall. If you can remove the key from the dead bolt lock when it is in the 9 o'clock position with the dead bolt locked, your lock has been recalled. Go to (Recall Page) for further information on what to do. They will send you two new lock cylinders and a replacement tool, so you can fix your existing lock.

As I was checking the internet, I came across something that should be of interest to the forum. Fastec-brand door locks, from 2006 to 2013 are being recalled by the trailer manufactures. These are the same door handles that were used on our HI-LO trailers, at least on my 2006. The key can be removed from the deadbolt lock in such away as to jam the lock so that it can't be opened from the inside. This recall appears to be recent and Fastec has yet to set a procedure in place to change the barrels in the locks. As we no longer have a manufacturer to make the recall, the only other course is to contact Fastec directly. The number I was able to find is 1-800-837-2505. I have not been able to contact them yet, but I will keep trying.
