    Replacement Keys?

I was able to have spare keys made at my local Ace hardware. They don't look the same but work perfect. We have a set in a "Hidden Key Box" on the frame, her set, my set and a set in the TV. Tree

    Silicone RV roof coating

Big "O", retired gave the right info, Kool Seal it. Clean it good and coat it 2X, 3 if there is enough. But, I can't stress enough, always keep an eye on that roof. Leaks sneak up on us. Tree

    2008 Hi-lo 15T won't lift

Guess I'm lucky enough to be able to keep my Hi Lo plugged into a 20 amp house outlet year round. Never lost a battery in all those years. Even now, my unit is in the mountains, winterized etc, but still plugged in. Only difference was I used to keep a Battery Minder plugged in during off...

    Air conditioning question

photo, Like I've said, never worked on a Hi Lo this old but I have seen older ones that had a coiled or flexible power cable going to the A/C. I'd suspect that's the power source. No idea what the plug ends look like. I thought someone with an older unit would have piped up by now, but they...

    Air conditioning question

Haven't worked on a unit this old, so I'd have to ask the question, is it plugged in? Follow the power from the A/C backward. You'll find the problem. Tree

Tires on or off for storage

G, mine are on with covers, but it's the same as in FL. My only concern is tire theft. But neighbors says not a problem. My cameras would catch them anyway, thus the po-po also. Tree

    grab handle

G, just went on "RV exterior accessories" at amazon.com and found the one that measured 91/4" overall and 8" mounting center to center. I needed white, but I'm sure they have it in other colors. Todays price $6.20 Tree

Tires on or off for storage

G Dale, I've never had to winterize any of my Ho Los as I live in Florida, I didn't need to. However, this year "the Treehouse" will be living in NC. I had the same question. Best answer I got was this: Lower tongue all the way, place GOOD jackstands on the frame behind rear axle. Raise tongue...

    Awning

cva34, Last thing I do before applying butyl tape is wipe the area down with rubbing alcohol, just my 2 cents. How's everything else going? Tree

    Newbie

I also have an 8500 awning, however, the fabric has been replaced with a stock size. This stock size is 1 foot too long. At first I thought I had some weird set up and thought I'd have to replace it. Then I found that if I didn't deploy it fully, it would stay like normal. That's what I'm used...

    New Owner Questions

I've been using an Rear View Safety (RVS) system for years and on several Hi Los. Just over 180 degree view. If the car is not behind me, then they are in my mirrors. Got them from amazon $196 prime. Plenty of cable and pretty easy to install. All the cable is hidden in the frame of the Hi...

    1979 2500 serial number location

Usually a placard street side (Left or drivers side), sometime stamped somewhere on the "A" frame, (maybe painted over) and if original cabinets, inside one of those doors. Mines on the door under the sink. Hope this helps. Welcome to the forum! Tree

Alum roof delamination, is it a problem?

Agreed, as a short term remedy, a reseal is ok. I try not using metal knives, razors etc. I prefer a stiff piece of plastic, sharpened. Less damage to the already thin aluminum. Also, after reseal, I'd put down a layer of etherbond (sp) over the seam. They also have it in silver. Caution, sticky...

    1969 Bon Voyage 209 overhaul

Sweet! Really nice to see a classic still on the road and in use. Best of luck with that beauty. My "Tree House" has been home for about 5 weeks now, while I re-hab a 100 yr old house I bought in the mountains of NC. I really enjoy living in a Hi Lo, although looking forward to the house soon. rear running lights

G Dale, Barman lenses are hard to come by for Hi Los. But, they can be found! Suprisingly, amazon has quite a few. You can try the Bargman site and enter the number on a lens or you can just google it. As a note, all my 12v lites have been changed to LEDs except running lites. I've ordered them...

AC leaking condensate water into camper

As I suggested above, remove the shroud, and clean everything you can get to. The condensate pan is very small, but does collect a lot of debris. Low pressure air works for the drains. Tree

h Here is MY basic steps for replacing the A/C gasket. top up. remove the inside trim, knobs, filter, the three or four bolts and the electrical connection. Some unit require the removal of two small electrical boxes-depends on model. Lower the top. With a 6' ladder, (and a helper if avail)...
