    Battery problem

Knotty, It is imperative that I disconnect whenever I stop. But, I truly do this, even when I just fuel up. I get to the pumps, hop out, disconnect, then shut the engine. It's just become habit. I'm pretty sure the 7 pin wires are 14 gauge, much too small to carry the amps needed for the...

    Battery problem

If it helps anyone, I used #10 wire from Pos post on Batt to a marine type breaker (cause it was given to me for just this task) mounted as close to the batt as possible. Ran the wire back to the 7-pin connector. With Caution, I replaced the existing wire with the 10 gage. put the plug back...

    2008 Hi-lo 15T won't lift

I kinda suspect a ground is not making good contact. Probably corrosion. But, it could be anywhere. Not much help I know, but presuming the battery is good, fully charged etc, then the likely suspect is grounding. The three beeps was most likely the carbon monoxide detector. NO idea why the...

    Battery won't lift 2001

One extra thought. Get hold of a tube of dielectric grease, from local auto store. You'll be doing yourself a favor when you put in those breakers. cCean all surfaces, put a small amount of the grease on each surface and put it back together. Dielectric grease is non-conductive, and retards...

    Battery won't lift 2001

I have always replaced both those breakers in the batt box on every Hi Lo I've had. It is only my suggestion that they be replaced with manual reset breakers. My reasoning is simple, if you use the "auto reset ones", you'll never know you have a problem.

    Alumi Roof

I'd think Bondo is a good choice. No metal in that, and it's designed to cover holes. Prime the area after working the roof, then apply Bondo, eternabond and coat. Put some extra Kool Seal on the patch area. Keep an eye on the area, cause eventually, you'll see more holes. Just the nature of a...

To be mine 1962 snyder hi lo

Sorry I took so long to answer. Yes, find cheap 1/4" paneling with a smooth backside. This gives a smooth surface rather than the regular grooved panel look. Once in place, it can be primed and painted for a custom look. Many paints now come with the primer mixed in to skip that step. On the old...

To be mine 1962 snyder hi lo

Several people have re-walled their units with cheap paneling, installing it backside out, thus allowing for primer and paint to adhere easier. Final result--looks great. We used "TSP", a product in the paint dept, that when used properly, preps paneling for paint, also works great.

Adding a 3rd curb side outrigger/top support on the curb (door) side

Also, I have really good bamboo flooring near the weld area, but the welder says "Not a problem" hummm. Says he can spot weld and keep returning to the top area to prevent too much heat build up. Course I could take up the flooring...NOT Tree

Adding a 3rd curb side outrigger/top support on the curb (door) side

Beach Papa, I'm going to have a third outrigger installed on both sides soon. One by the door and the other side near the aft end of the tip out. Both these ares are showing signs of sagging-not much, but enough to bother me. As far as pads, on my 27'er they were too far out on the ends of the...

    Tank dumping process

I don't know if this helps, but I'm trying it out. Like most everyone else I use a disinfectant/deodorizer while "in use". However, I added an extender gate valve that tightly attaches to the hose fitting. This allows me to drain the black tank-then I close the extension slide (black slide still...

    Butyl

I also trim off the excess butyl, but that leaves an unsightly "space". Skin, the butyl gap, and then the window frame. The Lexel makes a smooth transition from the window frame to the skin. After the window install, I leave the job set for a day or two, then trim the butyl, caulk it, and I'm...

    Butyl

The purpose of the Lexel gives a finished look, preferred over the rough edges of the butyl. It also prevents any dirt from forming, which can cause surface staining, you know, those running down the sides. Lexel does not expand and contract like butyl.

Real quick procedure: remove the inner window frame (someone or something outside to prevent the window from falling). Have spare stainless screws handy for breakage. Remove the window and put it on a makeshift workbench. Clean the window frame AND the area surrounding the hole. Use a plastic...

    remodeled 69 vintage camper

Latest number I can find for J & R is 740-392-1602. These gents are kin to the original Hi Lo factory. They have all the knowledge about Hi Los. Maybe they can help you out. Maybe a hidden place for the VIN. Worth a shot.

As that last post was about 4 years ago, you'll be lucky to get an answer. Hope so. Maybe , just maybe, a call to J & R may help. I'll try and look up the number or someone else may pipe up sooner.

cva34, Just for extra, I ordered a box of five rolls from amazon, cheaper that way. I have three large windows, two med ones and a small one. When completed, I had about two full rolls and a bit more. All rolls were 3/4". Since the "SEALING", I've used the tape for sealing around pipes thru the...
