    Powering hi-lo (

Neither my 2176B nor 2600TFB has a Master Switch like those having been discussed. There is an on/Off Switch on the 2600TFB, But NO intermediate Stop for just the Pump, even though the Manual says it does! On the 2176B the only Switch is at the Breaker Box.:)

    Powering hi-lo (

    Jim,- My Old 2176B is connected just as yours. The Positive Cable goes directly to the Pump and all other Power is directed from that point. As I recall (haven't refreshed my memory by looking again) the ground connects to the solenoid or top of the Pump.{?}

    Powering hi-lo (

Naomi, I've not tried this on my 2176RB yet, but I've learned here on the forum [if my Brain is working correctly] that it may be just the Brushes in the Motor. If so, just tapping with a rubber mallet may dislodge any build up on the Brushes. Otherwise, new brushes may be the trick. Doesn't...

    1977 Hi-Lo

I have a1976 2176B like yours, but a year older. A few years ago, I replaced the Bathroom Upper Wall & Ceiling Panels with shower type paneling. Now, the ceiling mostly at the joints & around the Roof Vent need replacement, which requires removing the Upper Cabinets. The Upper Cabinets near the...

    Newbies First Big Trip

Looks to me like IF you just want to avoid Turnpikes that the Detour through Western Arkansas is the quickest and best choice. Of course going or coming back, you could Detour through Branson Mo.!

    Newbies First Big Trip

Are you sure you mean I-44 Or mean I-40? I-35 is always kept in good shape, as are most Kansas Highways! But how are you traveling East? Seems like you're traveling pretty far East. 1st through Texas before you head North through Okla. then Kansas? And, from the State line to Wichita and/or...

    I need a Hi-lo University

On my old 2176B, the Power Cord has to be placed Then removed for Travel because it connects at the Top Drivers side near the Exhaust Vent. No A/C, so no need for 30 Amp so it was 15amp. Both ends were the round size of a 30 Amp though. At sites with No 15 Amp, I had to use an Adapter as Rich...

    Rear lift cables

Final Cable Attachment In the UP Position, although it's probably done by now! That way, the Cables are nearly fully extended with no slack around one of the Pulleys! Makes adjusting the height easier for making it level. Then down a few inches and back up a few times for Fine Tuning!

    Sos!

1976B How do I raise the roof?

My 1676 2176B needs more than that, but the main problem is I t needs some work on the hydraulic pump (hopefully just brushes). Using the "Search" above it takes you to several suggestions, but this one, http://www.hilotrailerforum.com/f55/outline-replacing-roof-gasket-220/, is probably the...

    refrigerator

Also, as I stated on another thread, rather than removing (a real hassel) and replacing the refer, there are kits for just replacing the coils. A whole lot cheaper than the whole refer.

    refrigerator

Are the Coils in back of the refer covered in dust, or are they clean? A build up of dust makes it not work as well.

    Spot Relamnation

Anyone have any suggestions for Spot Relaminating? I.e., by injection rather than by completely removing the fiberglass skin and disturbing the areas NOT affected?

What year and model is this?

BTW, I finally "upgraded" last month to a 2600TFB. Only 17 years old rather than 41 and had it for 29 years myself. Just doing minor maintenance sealing.

What year and model is this?

Refer Coils If the refer doesn't work, check to see if it's just the coils (noted on electrical operation, but on Propane too). My last one, in a 2176B, was the coils putting out STRONG, ammonia when turned on. If so, you can just replace the coils with a Kit and not the whole expense or time...

    fridge & under bed storage

I learned years ago from seasoned travelers that as long as you provide a little airflow, cracked roof vent and window to help the exhaust, leaving it on propane will keep the refer cooler than 12volt. It's a Liability issue for the RV companies so they tell you not too. I've upgraded this year...

    Refrigerator exhaust fan use

Quite an informative Thread! Thanks for the tips. Still have to get a 110 Amp to 30 Amp adapter to even know if the previous owner made any changes. Although, it probably wouldn't bother me to much anyhow, except the Battery use.

    Refrigerator exhaust fan use

Thanks Jack! I wasn't aware that it is automatic. Than makes much more sense now. With my old 2176B while traveling, I always had the roof vent cracked open a bit, and had the rear window open a bit too (that didn't work too well on dusty roads!).

    Refrigerator exhaust fan use

Now being the new owner of a 2601TFB, I can' find any information on "why" or "when" to switch this exhaust fan on? My old 2176B had no such fan and I'm not sure what the purpose is. Would it be to help exhaust any fumes using the propane for the Refer while traveling?

    Choosing Between a Hi-Lo & a Tow-Lite

I thank you all for your responses thus far. They are all helpful! Looking at the Hi-Lo Specs on both of them, they are both supposedly 94" in width (My old 2176B is only 91"), with the TowLite over 400 lbs lighter in axle weight. Then, the big thing, and I don't really know why (possibly the...

    Choosing Between a Hi-Lo & a Tow-Lite

Yes, it's a TowLite, as usual, with "TowLite" on the side. It's shown on the Hi-Lo "Past Trailer" site too, although no 2000, but as a 2001. Thanks for your opinion on the wind resistance. That could be a deciding issue. However, my old 2176B front is of similar configuration as the TowLite...

    Choosing Between a Hi-Lo & a Tow-Lite

I need Help in a decision. Have to replace a seriously in need of a nearly complete restoration of my 2176B Hi-Lo and have two choices priced relatively the same. The 1st is a 1994 Hi-Lo Classic 26BR,which looks to be in excellent condition. The only problem is that it is around 670 Miles away...
