Trailer not charging / 7 pin harness - very strange

Replaced all fuses related to trailering. I have an LED test lamp that did light up when I tested it on the distribution block in the trailer (trailer battery disconnected), vehicle running and connected. My normal test lamp did not work. Voltmeter still registering 12-14 volts. So it has to do...

Trailer not charging / 7 pin harness - very strange

Taking the advice of this forum and trying to clean up some electrical woes I have been having. Primarily related to arriving after a drive with a dead battery. Got a new battery, new terminals and diagnosing the truck's power out - there is none. But there's a twist. All fuses are good. Weird...

Battery dying while driving - questions

Thanks all. The TV is a '97 Expedition with a factory tow package and 7 pin harness. The alternator was replaced about 2 years ago. The camper is a 21' FunSaver, 1986. Connections clean and tight will always be in question :) I'll check out that fuse in the Expedition and take the camper...

FunSaver 19' tongue weight 600 lbs!!!

Update on this thread - thanks everyone for your help. The trailer length appears to measure in at 21', so the body of the camper is around 19'. The 2 propane tanks on the front don't help. The solution was a WDH, which is amazing. It fixed the Expedition up nicely and even gets 2" of rear...

Battery dying while driving - questions

Hi - returned from a camping trip this weekend. We were on electric all weekend. When I returned home the battery was dead. Couldn't lift the hydraulic. I had the Fridge on 12V for the trip there and the trip back. A few "known items": 1) we got the battery with the camper this year. It's not...

    Wheel bearing packing / maintenance

Simple question - is there a guideline for how often the bearings should be re-packed? We just had new bearings and seals all around (except one) and I'm wondering when I should have them serviced. Looking at doing a 3000 mi road trip in a few weeks. Thanks!

FunSaver 19' tongue weight 600 lbs!!!

So I've finally got things figured out in our '86 Funsaver. Picked it up on the cheap... obviously it isn't perfect - there are small holes in the roof that need to be patched but no interior water damage and no smell, etc. Everything works. BUT... It is flattening out the rear suspension on...

Battery and tank monitor panel dead

Thanks Sam! Slowly but surely I'm figuring it out. Will know in the AM how the battery is doing (it's been taking about 4-5A for 6 hours now). We bought it knowing it would be less than perfect. We wanted a cash deal and the ability to get out if things didn't work out. Our first camp last night...

Battery and tank monitor panel dead

Finally found it. I had to remove the faceplate for the power inverter. Found a bad fuse and replaced; board now works! Now I need to figure out why my battery is dead after days on 120V. It's either not being charged, not taking a charge, or somehow being drained. I'm trickle charging it now...

Battery and tank monitor panel dead

Thanks for the advice. I do not recall a master switch (everything's on). And I've not yet seen a fuse panel (assuming that's a 12v automotive style fuse panel you're referring to?) I'm aware of the breaker box. Any suggestions on where to look for the 12V panel? I just remembered I have a 12V...

Battery and tank monitor panel dead

Hi, Just picked up an '86 Fun(Chaser I think) this weekend and am getting everything up and running. Most of the basics seem to be decent; would love to get this monitor panel working. Right now it is entirely dead, no response. The pump switch does work, however the light behind the switch...

Is it safe to flip the trailer ball?

We just picked up a 19' Funlite yesterday and we have 2 tow vehicles - a Honda Ridgeline and a Ford Expedition. On the Ridgeline (haven't tried the Ford yet but its higher) - the rig sits pretty low, and I scraped the jack stand a few times while coming in and out of parking lots. If I flip...

    Interested in Bunk / Hardware

We just picked up an '86 FunLite and I'm interested in putting an upper bunk in. 1) looking for a bunk & hardware (we're in Colorado; could probably ship) 2) needs to fit less 1/2" width due to pine board a previous owner put on the walls.

    Looking for 18-22' Hi-Lo, ~$4k

Hi - looking to get into camping with relatively low startup costs. Right now my budget stands at about $4k max (which holds if I have to drive 1000 miles to acquire!). Could go up by next year if we don't find what we're looking for. Located in Colorado. Towing with either an Expedition or a...
