Thanks for the information about the handle pin. I checked mine yesterday and sure enough the pin was part of the way out of the handle. A few taps with a hammer and all is well. Thank You!

My bunk also slopes. It is not noticable when sleeping. Make sure your lifting cables are adjusted correctly.

PEX pipe can freeze and split. I had to tear apart a bathroom wall when the PEX pipes froze and split. The home owners heat went off while they were away and the pipes froze. It was the coiled style of PEX and not the stick style that was used. I don't know if that makes any difference.
