    Battery Use

I recommend a second battery to assure you will have power when you need it. See my post (kengsr) at http://www.hilotrailerforum.com/f17/how-long-refrigerator-dc-306/index2.html for my second battery installation. I also changed all interior light bulbs to LED bulbs I got off ebay for about $4...

    Tow mirrors

Very good mirrors for the price. Only caution is to keep track of the separate insert that slips in during installation to receive the screws. I keep these items duck taped to inside of mirror cover during storage. Without them the mirrors are useless.

Any problems leaving roof up during winter?

Looking for trouble I try not to go looking for trouble because I know trouble is looking for me. If you are in a snow area or windy area you need to keep the HI-Lo in the down position during the winter. Humidity is low in cold weather and should not be a problem. I have had no issues with...

    battery discharge

Keep the refrigerator OFF while traveling and add a second battery, if possible. See my post How long refrigerator on DC? - Page 2 - Hi-Lo camper travel trailer forum.

Does anyone tow without a weight distribution hitch?

WD Hitch 2007 Silverado 1500 and 2307C HI-Lo. I went without a weight distribution hitch for one year and did not like the feel of the wheel since the front end was light and the rear end heavy. With the WD hitch it is a much better situation. I would estimate the trailer was loading the rear...

Winterization Hi -Lo up or down. Wall Repair.

Winterizing in New England We are also in New England. I don't believe there are many HI-LOs here in NE. We store ours down with a very large green tarp tied over it. The snow and wind load can be great in this part of the country and keeping it up would be asking for trouble. I also clear...

No power to upper inside lights

Somewhere the wires feed from the bottom of the trailer to the top. Find this flexable wire bundle (may be in a cloth cover as in my newer Hi-Lo) and inside this bundle you may have a break. In mine, there are plastic wire nuts that connect groups of wires together for distribution from bottom...

    No power

Make sure the 3 way switch used to select the hydraulic pump for raising the top is placed in the UP position after you have raised the top. I was going crazy in 100 degree heat on a trip when I made that mistake and, only after plugging a radio into the campsite power feed, did I realize it...

    Battery removal for winter storage

I drilled a large hole in bottom of battery tray and run the battery wires through it for pre winter/spring battery connections with battery on ground. See kengsr post at following link. http://www.hilotrailerforum.com/f17/how-long-refrigerator-dc-306/index2.html

    Horst Miracle Probes

Sensors replacement Thanks. Glad I asked. Good to know I don't have to drill more holes. Can't imagine the tanks are very fragile, and our 2306C looks relatively easy to access the sensors on, so I may give it a try Kengsr

    Recent Posts

Besides the "New Posts" feature I believe a "Recent Posts" feature would be good; e.g the last two weeks of activity. This would allow one to log in and see what has been added or changed during the recent past. Unless there is a way to do this I am not aware of yet.

    Hub type

Hi-Lo Brakes Now have one wheel completely rebuilt with new brake assembly and new wheel bearings. Second one is in process. This trailer (2306C) is only 4 1/2 years old and 3 of 4 brakes had broken wires behind the brake assembly. The wire leads coming from the electric magnets within the...

    Hub type

We have a 2306C (used) with about 16 thousand miles on the road. I was testing a new brake controller by pushing the manual button and listening at each wheel for the characteristic hum of the electrical bakes. Only 1 of 4 was humming. I found a broken wire at rear of one brake assembly so...

    LED lights

LED (19) replacement light bulbs I found these 19 LEDs bulbs for $4.25 each shipped. I just got two for trial. They work well and I think they are worth the investment to eliminate the heat and waste of battery power. They have a blueish tint to the light which I like. Delivery time from...

    Loose Screws

Just returned from a trip with our 2306C. While at the campground I noticed that several of the 1 inch stainless steel screws that hold exterior panels in place were very loose and one had been loss. This is not good for a couple of reasons and so I tightened all of them. I plan to apply some...

    How long refrigerator on DC?

Fan switch Our 2306 has a "refan" switch on the general switch panel. I never have used it but have read it is for hot weather to help with the cooling. Turn it off if you have one and the noise should cease. Kengsr

    backup camera

Check Specs Carefully I thought about this once and what I discovered was that the transmission range was somewhat limited. I need almost 40 feet and didn't see that kind of range on my search at that time. Hard wired might be an option I did not explore. Kengsr
