Bent Hydraulic Ram and snapped off cable connectors

Commiserations on your faux pas, David but I think we've all lowered in haste & broken something. Maybe this leads to a 'guilty' thread. Hows about it, fellow Hi-Loers? Ours are: City water L connector Front ceiling cabinet Bathroom 'wardrobe' lift-up door Broom left upright in shower USB...

Looking for Hi Lo, 19 or 22 ft. 2002 or newer

The video is self-explanatory. During the video, you will notice a hole where the antenna signal booster goes. We broke it but it's now replaced. Same goes for the entry door slider panel which got UV damaged & cracked. We are usually at The Fort Pickens campground on the panhandle at this...

    Federal Shutdown

Like many from the northern states, we like to 'snowbird' in Florida. Our usual spot is the Fort Pickens campsite on Santa Rosa Island, Pensacola. It's an Army Corp of Engineers site, therefore federal. In January during the last shutdown, park rangers told everyone to leave by 4 pm...

    Cheap shelter for a 20' Hi-Lo

Thought someone may be interested in this. I bought it from Harbor Freight for 90 bucks (with coupon). Measures 10' x 20' x 6' 3" (9' 6" at apex). I raised my Hi-Lo top about a foot to leave as little gap as possible thus giving better shelter & I then supported the top with 2x4s. I know...

    Butyl

Treeclimber - Yes, butyl expands, thus forcing the Lexel out. This is my point. When I reseal my windows, I'm cleaning off the excess butyl which exudes from the frame for the next three years & I use the stuff sparingly. By the time I've stopped trimming the excess, it's time to reseal. I'm...

    Tank dumping process

There's an interesting comparison re black tank flushers on YT which concludes that they do little or nothing. I concur with the above comments; wait till you're home then flush from above.

    Butyl

Treeclimber - I see little merit in the use of Lexel as well as butyl tape as the butyl continues to thin & expand under pressure thus forcing the Lexel out. I'm all for learning the benefits of such a practice but my personal experience has found it to be redundant.

Dodge Ram 1500 7 pin connector

I purchased the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 for my Dodge Ram. Plug & play. Worked like a charm.

    Broken Freezer Door

Jack, I slotted the right angled tin to make it adjustable but you're right, it initially pulled the door magnet from its glued position. Making it adjustable solved that. :)

    2001 22TL Hi-Lo Tow-Lite

p.s. Pick one up cheaply off Craigslist, after all, they're just hunks of metal. ;)

    2001 22TL Hi-Lo Tow-Lite

Yes I do. Of course it'll also distribute the weight. Way to go IMO.

    Broken Freezer Door

Here's my solution &, IMO, what should have been fitted in the first place. A couple of neodymium disc magnets with a right angled piece of tin OR just buy some magnetic cabinet latches.

    2001 22TL Hi-Lo Tow-Lite

My rig is a 2204T + Ram 1500. Just wondering if you'd considered a weight distribution hitch rather that air bags?

    Lithia Springs, Lake Shelbyville, Illinois.

I had this posted in the Photo Album section, perhaps it should've been here so, excuse me for the repost. :) Thought I'd share a few pictures with you guys of a great site in our home state. This is an Army Corp resevoir so, if you're ol' gits like us, it's half price (with senior pass)...

Thought I'd share a few pictures with you guys of a great site in our home state. This is an Army Corp resevoir so, if you're ol' gits like us, it's half price (with senior pass). There are several camping spots around the lake but our favorite is Lithia Springs. Of the different 'legs' on...

    Awning on hilo campers, Question

Sam, our front top bracket has only one screw (came to us from the original owners that way, the screw was sheared). I often worry that it's gonna go one windy day. Looks like I should do the same.

    Awning on hilo campers, Question

A caveat, Bigbar. If you take this route, your awning will (just about) extend fully but I don't recommend it as the bottom awning supports may bend inwards as mine did. So, if you're not fussed about the fabric's fringe being visible, just extend to the Hi-Lo length...

    Awning on hilo campers, Question

I replaced my awning a few years ago with fabric only from an ebay seller. The fabric was regular length but I chose to leave it as such because, when the 'always exposed' section wears (as they all do), I'll cut the excess at that time & hopefully, double the life of my awning...

    Undercarriage issues.

By accident, I just stumbled upon your input, KnottyRig. Please excuse my ignorance for I was unaware of it. RichR assured me of the non-issue & I'm unconcerned about bouncing cables. But, thanks for your input. Happy trails :)

    EPDM rubber roof replacement

Since I stripped off all the old butyl from the roof/side of this Hi-Lo I've discovered several splits in the rubber roof on the right (from front) edge, caused in some part to the acute 90 degree sharpness beneath the EPDM membrane. I'm dumbfounded as to why it wasn't beveled & it's my...

    EPDM rubber roof replacement

Congratulations on the DH. Forgive my ignorance, I'm a Brit. Despite the advice from the right honourable DH ;), I'm going to attempt the cheaper option first. I see no reason not to as it represents the starting procedure for a complete replacement anyway. Take off front end cap & right...

    EPDM rubber roof replacement

    EPDM rubber roof replacement

I posted a picture here Sam, half way down the page: http://www.hilotrailerforum.com/f17/what-did-you-do-your-hilo-today-3923/index29.html#post32493 The water didn't get in where I marked the 'oops', the ingress was from the first end cap screw, it had insufficient sealant around it. But...
