Looking for a Dometic 2410 dealer

Thank you Sam, we hadn't considered a warranty through a dealer, we're just looking for a new refrigerator from a reputable outlet. That's a good point though. Thanks Reno, you wouldn't happen to have the part number for the replacement? I need to get a day where I can find where the leak is...

Looking for a Dometic 2410 dealer

Looks like we'll be replacing our refrigerator in the 2287. Had it running on propane the other day, opened the door to check it and the ammonia ran us out of the camper. Looks like the direct replacement for our model is the Dometic 2410. Can anyone point us to a reputable distributor in the...

    Troubleshooting shore-power setup

Welcome to the forum Margie, I'm sure someone has a good answer for you. If I was to guess, I'd start with the battery cable connections, especially where the ground (typically black) cable is connected to the trailer frame. Look for rust or corrosion, make sure everything is clean and tight...

Didn't get pics of the bears, but here are a few from the campground. Most of our photos were taken up in RMNP.

Spruce Lake Campground, Estes Park CO

Spent the weekend at Spruce Lake RV park in Estes Park, Colorado. It was very relaxing, as long as you don't mind black bears wandering through occasionally. There was also an elk herd that seemed at home around the lake. The restrooms and showers were very clean. There were gorgeous views of...

    Curtains/blinds

Hi Kaci, welcome to the forum. It's a great place for information and a bunch of great folks willing to share knowledge and experience. Our '87 FunChaser has curtains on round rods that we snap out of the brackets and put on the front couch when we travel. I don't like to leave them in place...

How many lifts with new battery?

@Jerry - don't know how long you've had your F250 - we found out that the trailer battery wasn't charging from our new to us '14 F150. After a little digging, DH found that Ford hadn't installed the trailer power relay or the 30 amp fuse in the distribution box under the hood. Got that done, and...

blinker/taillight LED bulbs for 2008 HiLo Towlite 15'

We used the Dorman Conduct-Tite - LED Bulb Part # 1157R-SMD available from a couple of different local auto parts stores. They seem to work just fine, and are bright enough to be visible in bright sun. They are about $22 per bulb.

    19' with slide out

Can't tell you from experience, but looking through past literature, it appears that the Expand-A-Room option was only available in 2002 and later in the 23' and up. On another note, the 2001 FunChaser is a "sport utility" trailer, sort of a hybrid toy hauler. I'm wondering if anyone has seen...

    emergency coupler

Biggest trick my dad taught me is to remember to turn the bottom of the steering wheel in the direction you want the back end of your trailer to go. /Ken

    1983 Funlite tires :(

I pulled our trailer up to the scales at the Co-Op so the front wheels were just off the edge of the scale. Uncouple the trailer from your TV and drive it off the scale. That gave me tongue weight. You don't want anything on the scale but the jack holding the tongue. /Ken

Welcome to the forum Dan and family, it's a great bunch of people willing to share their knowledge and wisdom freely with a passion for Hi Lo trailers. 1983 Funlite tires :(

I know I've read somewhere that they used spacers and raised the axle 3" in order to get 15" tires on the trailer. That would be easy enough to do with the torsion axle, but I think your 83 probably has springs on it. There is a load range D 8 ply tire on the market available through...

    Air Conditioner Size Requirement

Gary - Thanks for suggesting the Atwood, it looks like a pretty good unit. Found one that is rated 13,500 BTU but claims 16,000 BTU performance. It might be better here in Mid-America where it's hot and the humidity can be high for days in a row. It's 20 pounds lighter than the nearest...

    Air Conditioner Size Requirement

Thanks all, good feedback. The unit we're considering is a Coleman-Mach 8 Cub A/C, one thing I like about it is that it's low profile and a bit more efficient than the 30 year old BriskAire that quit on us. The exterior length of the trailer is 18', width is 7'7" so the calculation used was...

    Air Conditioner Size Requirement

The compressor failed in our 2287L air conditioner, the OEM installed is rated 13,500 BTU's. I can see from a manufacturing point of view that buying one size A/C unit for all trailers would be more cost effective, but leaves me wondering why it couldn't be replaced with a smaller 9,200 BTU...

What did you do to your HiLo Today?

AM} Thank you Sam, it's not the striker plate, something has come apart inside the door handle. I think the spring snapped. Unfortunately, I discovered this morning that the roof has developed a leak sometime while we were in Oregon last week. Guess what's at the top of the list today!!! PM}...

What did you do to your HiLo Today?

Replaced the original water pump with a new one, installed new curtain rods. Also put chrome ABS trim rings on wheels, sure does make it look pretty :) Tomorrow we'll work on the door, it needs new weatherstrip and a latch. Getting it ready to head for RMNP next month.

    Hi-Lo in New Mexico

We also tow with at 2014 F150 5.0 liter and 3.55 rear end but with the standard tow package and a weight distributing hitch. Except for feeling a few random bumps in the road, I find myself checking mirrors to be sure the trailer is still back there! Have fun on the maiden voyage. :D
