I was given this older trailer and have restored the bottom portion. It was in great condition, but not original. But the top portion has leaked down the walls in some areas and I can tell the wood studs have rotted, and need to be replaced. The walls have warped over the sink area, and are separating.
I,d like to remove the top and take the walls off and replace the studs and walls, but not sure where to start. The siding seems to be wrapped around the walls at the bottom. And I believe that the wood is rotted in this area also.
I don't know if anyone has tried to repair a unit this old and has run into this problem, but would appreciate any help.
Thanks Don

Welcome.

A number of people have done extensive rebuilds and posted photos and step by step updates. You might start by searching with "restoration" or "rebuild" or "replacing studs" etc in the 'search' area of the forum. Eventually, someone will hop on here with more detailed advice on where to search.

Good luck

Rick

Wall rebuild.

I don't know if this will help. DH and I did a upper wall restoration on our 1990 25ft. HiLo. Go to this post 11-15-2012. Restoration pictures and word descriptions. Keep us posted.
