Ok now… we just picked up a 1975 2175B. I have looked literally everywhere for the battery on this critter to no avail. No place on the tongue for a battery, not in any nook or cranny. Is there an onboard battery? I have a service manual on the way but figured I would ask the more attuned for assistance!

According to the brochure for a 2175B, it had a hydraulic lift and battery. https://www.hilotrailer.com/home/then#1970 So, yes, if it has a hydraulic lift system, it would be powered by a battery. They are usually located in the trailer tongue, but yours may be in a compartment under a couch or dinette chair. If the top goes up, under power, you've got a battery.

Interestingly, the battery charging system was shown as optional, so you may have to charge the battery with a separate battery charger, which would be a total pain.

The Owner's Manual for the 1977 models shows the battery in the trailer tongue, next to the hydraulic pump and lift motor. https://www.hilotrailerforum.com/f49/owners-manual-1977-2577-a-1117/ I doubt your trailer would be significantly different.
