Hello-
We just bought our first Hi-Lo trailer. It is supposedly a two owner trailer and is pristine inside. Couple outside fiberglass cracks on the rear bumper area that I am guessing are because someone used it as a step.
We are going to heavily modify the trailer to mount onto the back of a 5 ton military truck as a motorhome. Hopefully this won't cause us to be considered heretics!
The intent is to pull all of the lower skirting, delete the hitch and the axles, and anything that isn't needed for the move. We will be building a subframe and then with multiple fork lifts put it onto the truck. We will be extending the subframe on the truck bed aprox 4 feet to support the trailer.
We have seen some photos of this done by a gentleman named Bill Caid, so we know it is possible!
Any suggestions or ideas are all welcome (as well as clever criticism)
Thanks,
Dan Ford
