Hi, we are thinking of looking at a new 2010 2510 , its a left over and they want to be gone of it . Right now when towing our 24 foot Jayco with a 2010 f150 and get around 11 mpgs towing , how much better mpgs could we expect ?
Thanks Kipper

Kipper, welcome to the forum, I pull a 21 ft. TL and i average around 17 to 20 MPG with our 2006 Town and Country Touring, it also depends on the road conditions, speed ( recomended 60-65 ) for safest speed on Interstates.

We tow our 2310 with a 2007 Tacoma Crewcab, V6, 4X4 and average 14.3 mpg. It tows like a dream, I sometimes forget that it is back there.

According to the 2010 Hi-Lo brochure the 2510 weights 4480 lbs empty, probably similar to your Jayco. The Hi-Lo in the down position would have less wind drag, I could be wrong but I wouldn't expect your present truck to improve more than a couple miles per gallon.
Just checked the weight of the Jayco it is heavier than the Hi-LO so you might pick up 3 miles per gallon.

You will gain more gas mileage from the drop in wind resistance than you will from the decrease in weight. That is assuming that you drive faster than 35 mph, and I hope you do. :D

Guess I wasn't to clear I meant 3 miles per gallon total between the 2 things. I have towed my 95 T about 90,000 miles all kinds of conditions and the average is less than 13, On a good highway I get 15 , that's with a 1999 Explorer V6. It gets 20 highway without the trailer.

2505C Towing

I tow ours with a 2006 silverado 5.3 and get about 13 MPH American

Tow mpg

I tow a 22 footer with a Dodge Ram diesel, 6 speed manual trans and get 20mpg.

I pull my 2693 with my Savana with a 5.7 and 3.73's, fuel milage on the interstate at 65 to 70 mph is unchanged with or without it (it's already a breadbox). When I get on to the mountain two lanes I notice a drop of two mpg from my normal 14, my guess is that it's about 5200# while in tow, but I'm going to CAT scale it this season just to be sure.
