I have a 1995 23' FunLite (23FLL). The aluminum roof skin has delaminated from the whatever is underneath. Is there a structural problem leaving it this way?

I'm fairly sure the delamination is caused by moisture. There is a very fine crack in the caulk (Lexel?) on the seams between the aluminum panels.

My current plan is to scrape the old caulk off with a putty knife or razor blade knife and use some self leveling seal stuff from the RV dealer to reseal.

Any insight would be appreciated ... Thanks, Steve

Agreed, as a short term remedy, a reseal is ok. I try not using metal knives, razors etc. I prefer a stiff piece of plastic, sharpened. Less damage to the already thin aluminum. Also, after reseal, I'd put down a layer of etherbond (sp) over the seam. They also have it in silver. Caution, sticky stuff! takes two men and a boy to remove it.

if you can get surfaces and room ,,What about Eternabond double sided tape.(sticky on both sides).. Just another possible way maybe

Roof resealing

Get on the externabond website. It will give you the information you need. Externabond also come in Almond color.
