So this should be a simple one, but I'm just confirming. I did some looking around here and didn't find my answer right away. I'm going to attach a picture of the water heater switches, I believe. One of them has a lightning bolt the other one has a flame. So can someone confirm what the switch is do?

So I think I figure this out this water heater runs on both electric and gas. I think I knew that at one point, but I've slept since then and it's been a long winter! (Read memory loss)

Yup, the flame is Propane and the Lightning Bolt is 120AC power. As I recall, the light in the middle is ON if the Propane did NOT light automatically when selected. If that happens, turn it off, wait about a minute and try it again.

The lighting bolt is using shore power( your plugged in ) heating the water heater using electricity. The other is propane and when you flip in on it suppose to start the gas burner in your hot water heater. When you turn it on the it will attempt to start three times. After three attempts it will turn off the gas and a red light will come on. Sometimes it takes the gas a while to get to the hot water heater. If the light comes on turn it off for 30 sec and try again. You can run the electrical heater and the propane at the same time to heater the water faster.

I always prime the propane/gas lines before trying to light the water heater by lighting the stove, that way the water heater fires up right away. When connected to shore power I shut off the propane valve at the tank and let the electric heating element in tank heat up the water; saves on propane.
