Drain hose requirements for fresh water tank?

I managed to break the hose running from the fitting at the bottom of the fresh water tank to the drain valve on my 2004 Hi-Lo Towlite 17'. The tubing seems to be brittle, more brittle than I would expect, though it is probably 20 years old at this point.

My question is: can I use clear poly flexible tubing as a replacement? It is claimed to be non-toxic, always a good thing for potable, drinking water, but should I attempt to find the same translucent whitish tubing used originally? The big box store only had this 'original' tubing in smaller sizes than needed. thanks in advance

In my opinion, you can use any flexible hose that fits. It is a drain line and will not come in contact really, with water that you use in the trailer. I think ACE Hardware carries an assortment of sizes in clear poly tubing and should have what you would need.
