Electrial-120V corded, does 12v work?

I am new to RVing. Tent camper about 400 times. Dealer gave me a 220v to 120v plug adaptor. But if I connect unit through this plug the DC does not work, however 120v applicances do. Is there a switch somewhere to allow me to use the 12volt lights? Mine is a 2005 22T.

Do you have the main power switch by the door in the up position? That controls all 12 volt power except for the refrigerator. When in the down position, the switch supplies 12 volt power to the lift pump only. Center position is all off.

I should have added, did your 12 volt lights, etc. work when not plugged into 120 volts? Exactly what adapter did the dealer give you, there are different types? Where are you plugging in?

I think that the dealer gave you a 120 v 30 amp to 15 amp adapter not a 220v. It looks similar to the 220v so an easy mistake if you nave not been RVing before.

Rolff - you beat me to it! I can't imagine ANY RV or trailer needing to be hooked up to 220V power. I've never seen that offered in any trailer park either. But, some sites offer 112V 50 Amp power (for the big rigs) in addition to the 30 Amp supply that most of us need.
