I need some moderator help, I'm trying to upload my 1993 owners manual to the Reference Library and can't seem to get it to upload. I've split it up into five different pieces, but it still won't go.
Is there a trick that I'm not aware of? Each file is about 17 to 20 mb. My internet speed is ok, not blazing fast but I haven't had problems with any images or other pdf's.

I haven't mastered that task yet. Hopefully, Neal and Bev will come to your rescue.

Did you convert it to a PDF file? yeh, see you did. Each file has to be less than 7 MB even though it says it can be bigger. This site is uses V Bulletin software, I have checked other sites that use it also and the max seems to be 7MB, people say that there is a problem in the code, I don't really know but if you try under 7 MB it should work. I went nuts, til I done a lot of research, and found the 7MB max limit.

Dratt and Double Dratt!!!!
I may have to post it in two threads.
I don't get it the complete file is 36.3 mb, I broke the file up by printing "x" amount of pages to pdf via cute pdf writer and ended up with this:
File one is 17.5 mb
File two is 17.9 mb
File three is 17.0 mb
file four is 12.3 mb
and file five is 16.6 mb......it just dosen't add up!!!!! Aaahhhhh!

What are you trying to upload that is that big? If it has a lot of scanned pictures, they can be reduced in MBs with out loosing to much quality. The scanner software can do that.

My 93 owners manual to the reference library, I posted the brochure already.
I may just have to re scan it, we just bought a new printer copier for the company and I'm still learning all of the features, it is bad to the bone though.
Much better than our little HP all in one

The scanner should be able to reduce everything you scan, it is probably set to max quality. I would say scan everything to JPG and compress, it may be scanning to bitmap with no compression which creates a very large file. My scanner is very old, and quality suffer some, and I am no expert but I got it done.

Ya, I broke it down by page and scanned five at a time. That brought the file size down to 7-8 mb.
Now I just need to free up the airwaves on my network and it shouldn't take too long.
I keep trying to talk my office manager (that would be my Honey) to up the service but she's not buying.....

I would sugest that you try one before going to far, if it works ok, then just delete the thread. I experimented a lot till I got something that worked.
