I'm trying to get our HiLo ready to use after many years. It's amazing how much you forget.
I've attached the hose to the house faucet. How do I know when the tank is full? Will it stop letting the water flow in when it's full? It was completely empty.
As I remember, we attached to a campground water supply but neither of us remember what's next.

Thanks!

I dont think you can fill from the city water hook up. Only through the gravity fill port which should be right next to water hook up. Filling through the gravity is fool-proof. When full it will just overflow out the fill tube and a little from the air vent.

I did modify mine to fill from the city water, but I might have the only rig like it.

Filling the water tank

Unless you have a odd-ball trailer, you cannot fill the water tank from the pressure water inlet. The pressure water inlet that the garden hose threads into is to supply water to the faucets and other water appliances under pressure so that you do not have to run your pump. To fill your water tank, there is a port (usually right next to the garden hose connection) that you just trickle the water into. When it is full, it will be obvious, as it will overflow out of the port that you are filling.

Water Valve

We fill our water tank through the city water inlet...turn valve “straight” to empty into reservoir; we watch for the water to come up the clear tubing so it doesn’t “overflow”. We always said we would drop a float in the tubing to better see the water level yet never have. If sanitizing we use the gravity inlet to add bleach water. Don’t forget to turn the valve perpendicular to then use the water pump.
