Found my 20 ft. Hi-Lo in St. Peters, MO. Friend towed it to KC with his V8. No issues except blew one tire. Lots of questions. I towed it to my house from office with my Nissan V6 PU truck/standard 6 speed....This "ain't" gonna do the job. The clutch won't take it (or, at least, I'm not nimble enough to not trash the clutch). I had already decided to find a new tow vehicle.....but what? I see already, that a lot of you are using V6's but I'm thinking V8. I'm looking at a VW Touerog, Dodge Durango, Chevy...blah, blah...I'd love to add V6's to the mix. Your thoughts?

Also, what seam sealers do you like best?

I use a toyota V6 3.4, automatic. A bit small on the engine size for a TV, but works very well.
Your Nissan is doable as a TV, if you are good with a clutch. If it is paid for and you make a few changes like a trans cooler, WDH, and frame mounted hitch, it can work out well.

The article linked is a good write up and will give you many insights into the needs for safe travel. Wheelbase and suspension have a lot to do with better driving experience while towing.

If I had it to do all over, I would have purchased a f250 diesel back in 1997.
My Toyota is paid for and not going to be retired for lack of power.

I PULL WITH A v6 3.5L

Not ideal but it's what I have, and it does work.

Unfortunatly I sold both my bigger vehicles several months before I found my camper.

welcome to the forum

JGugi1, Welcome to the forum. The answer to your sealing question may be this. Remove all old caulk by scraping carefully and clean area with rubbing alcohol. Let the area dry the reapply lexell caulk. This can be purchased at ACE hardwear or on line. It costs about $8.00 and is worth every penny. Check out the library section for other necessary maintenance items.
